Butra HeidelbergCement (BHC) Sdn Bhd held a Gala Night on the 30th November 2018, at the Royal Berkshire Hall, Tarindak D’Polo Jerudong. The Gala Night was organized to recognize and appreciate the contribution of the employees of the company in the last year. These contributions have culminated into record performances in the Production and Sales of Brunei Cement for the year.
The evening began with the recitation of prayers by Tuan Imam Haji Jalil Haji Putra. This was then followed by an uplifting welcoming remarks by Marcelino Ugarte, Managing Director of BHC Sdn Bhd, where he took the opportunity to thank the employees of BHC for their hard work and effort to push the Company forward. He highlighted that the strength and successes that were achieved by BHC can only be obtained by the combined effort and hard work of everyone.
The Gala Night saw nineteen (19) employees of BHC honored for their length of service and loyalty to the Company. Seven (7) of the employees in particular were celebrated for their twenty (20) years of service namely, Hajah Noorafidah BPK DP Mudim Haji Mat Jaya, Laboratory Supervisor, Awang Hasrin Lassim, from Production Shift Manager, Amran Haji Muhammad Jamaluddin, Store Supervisor, Razlee Ismail, Jetty Supervisor, Ali Imron, Jetty and Packing Plant Operator, Juwito, Jetty and Packing Plant Operator, and, Jerma Anak Uri, Jetty and Packing Plant Operator.
Throughout the evening, the Management and employees of BHC as well as their family members were entertained by various dance and singing performances from the internal staff – namely from the Logistics and Maintenance Department – and from independent performers – Ritu Dancers and Mystical Dawn. In between the entertainment, various awards were presented to BHC employees such as Best Slogan for Safety Week 2018, Biggest Loser (weight-loss) 2018, Best Dressed, and Best Personalities.
The highlight of the Gala Night was the Grand Prize Draw: as many as six (6) prizes, including Airline tickets, gadgets and shopping vouchers were raffled among the guests.
Guests also participated in a variety of activities such as Henna Painting, Bollywood-themed Photobooth, quizzes and guessing-games.
